Setting the scene.

Think about a place in your mythical story, this might be a forest, cave or castle. Imagine how your character feels as they enter this mysterious place. Write a short paragraph including:

·         Description of how your character moves.

·         What your character can see.

·         Adverbs to show how they are moving eg. Crept cautiously.

·         Anything they can hear, smell or touch.

I look forward to reading your blog entries, either on paper or on here!

  1. Brave Rowland was walking round one of the dungeons carefully making sure not to set off any traps. He could smell mouldy meat then he saw dim light. He suddenly banged into something then he saw it was a trail of bones. Brave rowland carried on going cautiously then he heard a beeping noise and fell in a pit. The pit was dark and gloomy it had 7 passage ways. He saw the faintest bit of light through the 3rd passage way he followed it nervously. Then he was back on land and free he felt happy and pleased with himself. It looked so bright outside but also glamourus . There was rows of tall and proud trees, with a massive lake.

  2. As Lady Lauren entered the cold castle she felt terrified. After the long journey she was extremely tired but she could not give up on her brothers and sister. Lady Lauren walked quietly through the freezing cold castle. She could see ice-cicles as big as clouds she felt sorry for her brother and sisters.

  3. Describing a setting

The garden was full of magnificent flowers swaying in the summer breeze, smelling so divine. As soon as Katie and Jack saw the flourishing garden they couldn't believe their eyes. The garden felt peaceful, calm, serene and even understanding. It felt like the garden was cared for so much. In every corner was happiness.
They stood up from the soft grass and looked around them. The garden was like a wild forest. The tall trees towered Katie and Jack as they walked around.
The fountains rushed gently near Katie. The river was reflecting the orange/red sun beaming straight at them. As Katie walked around Jack caught a glimpse of a castle surrounded by animals. Jack could see lots of glistening glass chandeliers, posh, cosy furniture, paintings of ancestors and stunning statues made from gold.

  4. As he walked into the chicken farm he crept cautiously towards many chickens and saw them pecking at bits of food laying on the ground. He then saw two chickens fighting over the same piece of food. He suddenly smelt a whiff of something like poo. He found that one of the chickens had pooed. He slowly backed away so not to frighten the chickens. He could hear birds screeching from high above. As he looked up he could see the clear blue sky. He moved his hand slowly up towards the sky as if to touch it.
