We have started reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Watch this film clip of Lucy entering Narnia for the first time.
The first half of the clip shows her entering Narnia and looking around.
How do you think she is feeling?
She then meets Mr Tumnus for the first time. How do you think she feels when she sees him? How would you feel?
I would like you to write a description of Lucy's first trip into Narnia.
We have been working on using adjectives and adverbs to add detail and description.
We have also been exlporing figurative language; metaphors and similes.
I would like you to include descriptive language, as well as trying to use a metaphor and simile.
You can put your post on the blog or bring it in on paper.

I think Lucy's first trip to Narnia was a bit scary for her because to meet an animal that you never have heard of you won't know there actions if they're friendly or not. I think when she saw Mr Tumnus she thought he was as big as a Kangaroo!
ReplyDeleteThere were snowy white trees, the ground was rough and covered with snow. There was a tall lamp post which shone nearly as bright as the sun like glowing gold.
ReplyDeleteWhen Lucy entered Narnia, she stared glamorously with amazement! She felt as if she was walking through a land with permanent snow storms. Hearing the sounds of the trees wave smoothly in the breeze, made Lucy feel incredibly curious about the mysterious land, Narnia. Furthermore, Narnia was as cold as ice!
ReplyDeleteLucy found a gaint cloth, that covered the wardrobe. She silently approached it ,then she opened the door and there was a disgusting smell of mothballs and went inside
ReplyDeletethe wardrobe and then she saw a whole new world in the wardrobe. She took a deep breath and a step in it was covered with snow and there were more than a dozen trees it was a forrest and she had to discover this new land. Lucy steped in and was already in the middle of the forrest there was a light post suddenly there was a clip-clop noise and it appeared in front of Lucy it was a forn and his name was Mr Thumnus it was scared of Lucy and droped all his things then lucy picked them up (I'm not going to add the conversion because the time is 12:39 ) and Mr Thumnus led Lucy the way to his cave.
When Lucy first enters Narnia she was feeling curious and a little apprehensive , because she had never there before. It was an unknown world to her.

When Lucy first heard the trotting noise around her it frightened her, because she couldn't see anything. Then when Mr Tumnus appears, she was very scared and he made her scream,
I think Lucy was very intrigued by him as he looked different.
If I met Mr Tumnus I would be shocked at first and then very inquisitive and would want to find out more about him.
When Lucy enters through the wardrobe she comes across a new world, it was a very mystical world. She starts exploring and wondering around the snowy world,. It started to snow, and the snow was a soft and light as a feather.
She then comes across Mr Tumnus, when they first meet they are both scared and startled. They began to talk to each other and introduce themselves.
Mr Tumnus invited Lucy to come for dinner in his cave.
When Lucy entered Narnia, she stared surprisingly with amazement! She looked up at the Christmas trees, they were contaminated with snow. As she was walking, a snowflake fell into her hands when she arrived at a tall lampost. The inside top of the lampost was as hot as gas cooking raw meat.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, she felt as if she was rambling through a place with permanent snow blizzards. Hearing the sounds of the trees wave in the breeze made her feel incredibly curious about the mysterious location, Narnia.
Impulsively, she also heard footsteps aroused by an anonymous forghn. She looked around herself in a scared pose and then shockingly screamed as both people looked back. Then Lucy glimpsed at the shadow of the creature hiding behind the tree. After that, they both introduced themselves,the forghn's name was Mr Tumnous and Lucy introduced herself. Eventually, Mr Tumnous kindly replied to Lucy that to have tea with him.
Slowly, I’m walking into the wardrobe, remembering not to shut the door behind me, seeing as I could get locked in. As I turn to check that the wardrobe door is open something grabs hold of my cardigan. I gasp and then turn my head slightly, trying to see what it is.
ReplyDeleteExcited, I turn my head, seeing pure white snow, drifting down onto the floor. I see trees like witches fingers. It’s light in places and dark in others. There’s a smooth cover of snow on top of the trees. I’m walking on a soft, clean white pillow of snow. Ahead, I see a lamp post, which is shining bright like beautiful diamonds. Feeling thrilled, I walk further on into the woods.
Abruptly, as I am walking into the woods, I hear trotting coming from behind the trees. The sound is coming closer and closer. Quickly, the snow is crunching. I see a strange creature, heading my way. Feeling petrified, I hide behind the lamp post. Scared, the creature hides behind a tree like a frightened squirrel.
I soon pluck up courage to go and see this creature. The creature has parcels in his hands and a snowy white umbrella above his head. The next thing I see are the parcels flying in the air …
As Lucy came out of the wardrobe she fell into the crisp white snow.She stared in amazement as she looked all around! Her feet crunched through the snow as she walked forward. Everything was extremely silent. Not a bird chirping.Suddenly,Lucy heard foot prints in the snow.when she looked up she was shocked to find a strange creature standing in front of her.He looked like a dear with a human body.He was wearing a red scarf and had blonde curly hair. He had fur on his four legs.He was surprised and scared to see Lucy. He told Lucy that there was a horrible witch who was in charge of Narnia.
ReplyDeleteI walked in through the wadrobe, very curious when I would feel the back of the wadrobe but I did not.Instead I felt something cold and spiky.I leant against it and fell backwards...I opened my eyes and I found myself in a snowy mysterious land.I was thrilled to get started exploring!

ReplyDeleteShe feel scared when she first met Mr.Tumnus.When I meet Mr.Tumnus for the first time I would feel frightened.
When Lucy was playing hide and seek, she found a wardrobe. She was walking and she found a prickly tree covered in snow behind her. She was exploring the forest, then she saw a lamppost . She heard something creeping on to her. Suddenly she screamed and she hid behind the lamppost . She introduced herself to the strange person, then the person said his name is Mr.Tumnus and he is a Thorn.
When Lucy pricked herself on something she felt really scared. Lucy felt a little worried when she saw the fawn,she was also confused when the fawn didn't shake her hand. I would feel terrified if I saw a fawn because I have never seen one before.
ReplyDeleteWhen Lucy walked out of the wardrobe suddenly she felt prickles of the pine trees a breezy cold wind. She could smell the smell lovely snowy pine trees.
Lucy saw soft,white snow all crunching under her freezing feet and rustling on her coat. She could see trees covered in snow and in the distance she could see a bright light with a goat shadow near it.
Lucy felt scared when she meets the faun .The faun felt scared to .when they meet each other they felt happy
ReplyDeleteI think when Lucy for the first time entered Narnia felt worried,She heard Mr Tumnus walking through the snow she felt scared. They were playing hide and seek. Lucy found a speare room,She went into the wadrobe and found herself in Narnia She met Mr Tumnus and They had some tea.

Lucy felt amazed to see a new world. When she met Mr Tumbnus she must have been astoinished and scared. She met strange creatures and didn't know how to react to them. She could have been excited to exlore the new land.

ReplyDeleteAlthough she was scared, eventually Lucy was feeling quite amazed when she first met Mr Tumnus. Then Mr Tumnus told Lucy about how cold it is in Narnia. I imagine it is as cold as a freezer.
When Lucy pulld the cover of the wardrobe ,it looked to me that the wardrobe was all rusty and broken.She walked in and found a weird creature that was Mr.Tumnus.Mr Tumnus asked if Lucy could come with Mr.Tumnus for tea but luy said no.

ReplyDeleteAs Lucy enters the wardrobe she feels a bit nervous but excited. When she walks into Narina she feels amazed. When she meets Mr. Tumnus for the first time she is shocked, scared and a little suspicious. Then she is curious but in the end she feels comfortable and becomes very chatty and friendly. from tanraj
When Lucy first entered Narnia I think she felt scared because she felt something prick her.Then she heard footsteps when she was standing near the lampost. Then she was petrified. When she had Mr tumnus the faun she felt startled. When Mr tumnus asked her for tea she thought for some time then she said yes I will come.After she had tea with Mr tumnus she told the others about it but no one believed her.

ReplyDeleteLucy saw the wardrobe, and on top of it, a sheet. She pulled the sheet away in curiosity and smiled at the sight. She was probably thinking how good of a place this would be to hide!! She opened the door, and walked inside. Not closing the door because... 'As every sensible person knows, never shut yourself in a wardrobe.'
She stepped back, and kept stepping back, pushing into the furry coats. She felt a prickle on her hand/back, and I think she felt terrified, yet I think she was in mystery of what it was. So she poked her head out the hole to see a whole new land. If I was her, I think I might just faint. But Lucy was amazed, and by her expression, she looked like she wanted to explore every bit.
She walked around, the snow falling in her hair and melting. She saw the lamp post and looked at it with an astonished look. She felt the snow around the pole of the lamp post and suddenly, she heard a sound. Footsteps.. Probably, she was was petrified. She then saw a 'Creature' and screamed loudly. She looked at him from both sides then bravely stepped closer. She picked up the package and The 'Creature' Mumbled. They got to know each other and Lucy then knew that this name was Mr. Tumnus, The Fawn. Tumnus then asked her if she would have tea with him. Lucy politely agreed and went off. She may have felt happy and delighted to have a friend in Narnia, already.
When Lucy entered Narnia her hands turned as cold as ice and she felt the magic in the air. As she stepped forward the breeze caught her by the neck. She walked further and heard a rustle in the bushes and out came a giant fawn. He had curly hair and little horns. Half of his body was a goat from his waist to his toes, and the rest was human.
ReplyDeleteThey both screamed in fear and the fawn dropped his present. Lucy hid behind a tree, she was so frightened that she almost fell down on to the shiny, glittering snow.
If I went to Narnia and met Mr Tumnus I would feel excited and scared, almost as scared as if I had seen a ghost.
