How Does a Tigon Catch Its Prey?

Pick one of your cross breed animals from last week’s homework. Then write a short explanation text about it with two paragraphs.

Paragraph 1: introduction. What is your animal called, what does it look like? What does it eat?

Paragraph 2: How does this animal catch its prey? (This is the bit which explains the 'how' and 'why')

For example:

How Does a Tigon catches Its Prey?

Tigons are a cross between a female lion and a male tiger. Unlike ligers, which are also a cross breed, tigons are much smaller than a lion or tiger. Tigons have four legs, a long tail and powerful claws. Interestingly, they also have a spotted and striped coat and a small mane similar to a lions.
Tigons, like lions and tigers, eat meat. First they hide in order to sneak up on their prey. Then they slowly approach the prey until they are within striking distance. When ready the tigon will leap at the prey, usually from behind, and sink its teeth into the animals flesh. The tigon will then drag its prey away to a safe place to feed on it.

As always, you need to think about sentences (think, say, write), spellings and making your writing interesting!

I look forward to reading your explanations!

  1. Dolca
My animal is called a Dolca and he is a very large hybrid. His colour is black on the top of his body like an Orca and grey on the bottom like a Dolphin. My creature eats fish and small sea lions so he eats one thing from each of his parents.

My creature traps his pray by wacing it with his fins and his tail. Well my animal is not supposed to go away from his beach who noes when lost fish or sea lions come. The power of his fines slap was so hard his victim faints. Then finally goes in full speed and grabs his food to eat it whatever is left of the food he slapped. he dose not do this when humans are around because he knowes it is not safe for us.

  2. How a poala catches its prey?
A poala is a cross between a female panda and and a male koala. It has floppy ears, yellow eyes and has black and white lines above its eyes and on his back. You know if an animal is a poala by its fluffy brown tummy and black fur. Poalas eat bamboo and flower petals from the flower called extra neturilus bamdozle which is very rare and only poalas can find.

A poala finds the flower petals and bamboo with its nose. First it smells the air for any whiff of the extra neturilus bamdozle. The extra neturilus bamdozle smells very fresh and is the best smelling flower in the world.Once it catches a hint of extra neturilus bamdozle flower it takes a twig and makes and x with it.Then it starts crawling in the direction of the flower. Poalas have a very good sense of smell so they could smell an extra neturilus bamdozle 10 miles away.
When it can see the extra neturilus bamdozle flower it climbs up a tree using its sharp claws which is right in front of the flower and goes to the nearest branch to the flower and jumps down. After it has jumped down the branch it should be write next to the flower then it gently pulls it out of the soil and takes the flower back home.

    1. I love the sound of this flower! When the Poala takes the flower home, does he or she eat it right away or does it have a special method of preparation?

  4. How a Snakorse catches its Brown Rabbit
A Snakorse, a twist between a snake and a horse, is not as bad as it looks. Despite the fact they have blue skin, a snake mouth and black, brown, grey, red, orange, and yellow eyes, they are harmless. They are only still babies and they were born on ‘Friday 14th November 2014’. People love visiting the ‘Finland zoo’ in hope that they will see the unexpected animal that was born. The mischievous one has caused such a craze that now over 500 people a-day come to see it and feed the lucky thing. Interestingly, the Snakorsear (its long name) has a large space inside it for insects, fish, vegetables and brown rabbits, so a Snakorse can eat twice the amount of food an elephant can eat in a week!
Much like a liger, a Snakorse has a clever trick to catch its prey but it is much slower when it comes to catching a brown rabbit. If it misses one step, the whole plan goes wrong. First, the Snakorse needs to make a tripwire by scraping a branch of the vine tree, make a firm box out of leaves and dry mud and dig a hole or place a shiny thing on the side of a path. Next the Snakorse will lie the tripwire on the path so that it stretches. The box will be above the tripwire, waiting to trap the poor and unfortunate bunny. Then the ‘prey’ will be attracted to the shiny thing or think that the hole is its burrow and then brown bunny will trip over the wire and the box will trap it.
After a few days, the rabbit would have grown weak so it couldn’t hop anywhere. This gives the Snakorse a chance to roast the prey and fatten it up. So the Snakorse carefully removes the box and does as told to in previous sentence. Now at last the Snakorse can have a fat feast with his friends.

  5. How a Kangull catches its unicorns
A Kangull is a combination between a Bull and a Kangaroo. They are not as dangerous as you think they are. They have multi-coloured eyes, pointy nose and a pouch to keeps its babies safe. These are a new species of animal and was first seen on December 24th (Saturday). It has the body of a kangaroo and the head of a bull which is well protected. They eat everything the has a even a tiny bit of red on it even if it is a Christmas tree with red tinsel on it. They can and will eat up to 200bl of meat and vegetables a day! These amazing creatures are meant to be nocturnal
animals but they stay around in the morning and sleep at night. The Kangull especially loves the taste of unicorns.

First the Kangull puts a background around everywhere which is made out of cardboard. Then he/she ties a tripwire between two trees. Next they draw a rainbow and at the end is a pot of gold. They draw that to attract the unicorn. Last but not least the Kangull ties a cage onto the tree so when an exited unicorn passes by it will trip over and be trapped in the cage.
