We have been reading ‘Tuesday’
by David Wiesner and thoroughly enjoying the mischievous, froggy adventure!
This scene did not appear in
the animated version we have watched, but it is one of the funniest
images! The frog in the middle is
braking as hard as he can!
Can you write about the three
images, telling the story? As it is in
three sections you might be able to write three short paragraphs…!
See if you can include some
powerful verbs (e.g. whooshed, accelerated, zoomed, whizzed), some prepositions
(over, under, round, through) and even some figurative language too! Remember; a simile says something is like something else and a metaphor says
it is something else.

The first picture
ReplyDeleteThe frog raced through the bushes, down the alley and into the trees.The lily pad the frog was racing on was a zooming Formula One Car.The speckled, slimy and spotted frog was weaving in and out of the thick green bushes.
The second picture
Suddenly, another spotty friend raced past zooming through bushes...Then it came to a halt ,it stopped just before it got to the dogs pointy nose.The frog tried to put the breaks on by lifting his lily pad very quickly before he bashed into the dog.The frog put his breaks on, he lifted the lily pad,and stopped just before crashing.
The third picture
Surprisingly, the dog chased after the frog running like the wind.The speckled, spotty frog flew as fast as he could while the dog on the other hand was chasing him.
I like your very first sentence - the prepositions in each part of the sentence give an idea of the pace at which the frog is travelling!
DeleteThe black spotted frog dashed through the air, suddenly it stopped and the frog braked as hard as he can in mid air until it a dog was trying to chase him and the frog dashed as fast as he can through the air.

DeleteIt was around 8pm on a Tuesday evening, when all the frogs in the town were getting ready to settle down for the night, on their lily pads. Suddenly they started flying. One frog started to wonder off in a garden He tried to see if there was something fun to do. The frog was going too fast. Until he saw a dog.
ReplyDeleteHe was terrified! He did not know what to do. He did not want to go straight into the dog's mouth. He quickly put two of his feet out in the hope that it would stop the lily pad. It seemed to work. he tilted his body, to swing the lily pad in the opposite direction. It worked! He was now flying at high speed away from the dog's mouth.
The frog went back to call his frog friends. He had many friends so a whole fleet of frogs chased the dog away. The frog and all his friends were so relieved that they had not been eaten by the dog.
Do you think the dog wanted to eat the frog or just wanted to play?

DeleteYes, he does look like he's enjoying himself, with his tongue and ears flying!
DeleteMerrily, a slimy, freckled and dirty frog was flying straight forward on top of a lily pad, trying to get home. The frog was a green traffic light. The frog was previously picking some flowers to take back home, so he could decorate his walls outside his house.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly, the frog saw a wet, black and shiny nose running right in front of him. The frog also saw a pink, long and dribbling tongue straight forward. Quickly, the frog tried to brake, but didn’t know how to control the lily pad.
Rapidly, the tongue and the wet nose transformed into a dog. The frog started to control the lily pad by pulling the lily pad backwards. The dog chased after the frog, as fast as his paws could carry him. The dog probably just thought the frog was a huge, squeaky toy, but the dog couldn’t get the frog, as the frog had already flown above the clouds like a soaring owl into the dark night sky…

DeleteIn front of the slipery green frog he saw a glitery and gold and brown dog.The dog thoght that he was playing a game.
The shinny and gold brown dog started chasing the green spotty green frog.
I don't think the frogs will experience this night again, because there are other animals that have not experienced this night yet and they need to be given this opportunity as well.
DeleteI don't think the frogs will be able to do this again because the next night they couldn't and the week they couldn't either but , that night the pigs flew ... so I think each animal will have the experience in turn .[On Tuesday].

The second picture:
The frog smelt something.He travelled quickly over to the smell.He pulled and pulled his lily pad inbetween his legs,hoping the lily pad would stop but it did not.
The 3rd picture:
suddenely a dog as big as a moose started chasing him!
The green-polka dotted frog zoomed through the air so swiftly that he felt that he was circumnavigating planet Earth! The slimy creature was a green pear. The frog then scrutinized the things behind him to check if there was any danger or whatever.
ReplyDeleteUnexpectedly, he heard a slight creak coming towards him in the South direction. Unfortunately the animal did not know that, so instead it looked around itself. Suddenly the amphibian saw a shiny black nose popping out behind him. He thought it was a mini ball to play with.
The frog then noticed that it was a dog! The frog tried to fly away as quickly as he could. On the other hand, the dog was chasing it like a wild animal prancing for his dead meat. In its mind, the frog thought why the dog was running so actively at night?...
It was evening and the frog was sleeping on his lilypad. Suddenly the lilypad was flying over roof tops.
ReplyDeleteAs he got more confident he practisced nipping round objects. Suddenly the frog noticed it was being chased by a dog. The frog breaked as herd as he could, spun around and increased the speed of the lilypad as much as he could.

ReplyDeleteThe frog was happily hovering over the ground swooshing ,zoomed through the path cheerfully exploring around.The frog hovering above the path was looking around in the gloomy night.
Second Picture
Surprisingly,the black spotted frog found something BIG,REALLY BIG and the frog tried to stop the lily pad from flying forward!!!
Third Picture
The ferocious dog was running towards the frog , trying to chase it away .The frog whizzed and zoomed through the gloomy path and had a lucky escape.
Merrily, the frog strolled across the bushes on the sides of the dark, black polka- dotted, slimy frog while looking straight ahead like a statue
ReplyDeleteSuddenly, out of nowhere a bulging nose entered the area just in front of the polka dotted slimy frog.
The frog just had enough time to rapidly turn around and while the frog turned around he could just make out a creature which looked exactly like a slobbery mouthed dog. quick as a flash the frog was off with the dog on the frog's trail.

Second picture:
Wet, black, shiny nose just like a button on a girls Duffel coat on a thrilled hazel nut coloured dog. The frog had to stop as quickly as a racing car coming into the pit lane.
Third picture:
The frog was so terrified so he turned around so quickly just like a jet ski at the last corner of a race. Suddenly he ran the dog onto the hard, bumpy, cobbled street.

First Picture:
ReplyDeleteOn the dark and misty night a green, slimy frog was floating over gloomy bushes on his lily pad. He was going as fast as a fully accelerated racing car and he was finding it surprising.
Second Picture:
Suddenly the frog saw something brownish black, popping out of nowhere. He realised that he was floating very hasty and tried his greatest to slow down with his feet up and body down to reduce his speed.
Third Picture:
The frog then found out that the brownish black thing was the Dog’s nose. The Dog was zooming after the creepy frog and trying to play with him, but the frog wasn’t quite sure about whether the fluffy Dog wanted to play or eat him.

ReplyDeletePic2. : Fun-time for slimy green frog comes to a halt as he suddenly saw an enormous nose in front of him. as he gets closer and closer saw a big brown dog coming closer and closer. He was petrified.
Pic.3: The slimy frog tried to spin around on the spot, all the worst cases going through his head. The dog ran after the frog, and he hovered away as fast as he could on his magic pad, far into the dark sky.
The green bumpy frog glided quickly across a bumpy road on his lily pad, passing many tall grass.
ReplyDeleteThe frog was gliding calmly but then the frog excelarated super fast as a huge nose was in front of him.As the nose got closer the frog saw it was a golden dog smelling him.
The spotted frog turned really fast to get away from the golden dog chasing him into the dark.
One of the little spotty frogs, on his green lily pad, took off and dashed away. Suddenly, when the frog was enjoying his freedom, he saw a small black nose, with golden fur... He wondered, what was it? But his question was soon to be answered, because the animal was charging at him! A large dog sped at the tiny frog, while the frog was in shock. The frog flew up into the air, happy to have escaped.
ReplyDeleteOne wintry silent night, a green speckled, mucusy frog, was bouncing silently on it's green lily pad, trailing leaves behind him as he went. Suddenly a black wet nose, followed by a pink slimy tongue peered out of the open dark shadow of a dogs mouth.
ReplyDeleteThe frog reacted quickly and tried to stop his lily pad as fast as he could and turn around. The gold sanded dog chased the green speckled frog to the end of the road, where a swarm of frogs gathered to chase Rusty the dog away.
